Nursing Home Education Project
In partnership with post-acute and long-term care experts, Saint 直播自慰视频 University's Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program has produced a set of brief, recorded presentations that focus on optimizing care for older adults living in post-acute care (PAC) and long-term care (LTC) settings.
Project Overview
The goals for these trainings include providing insight into the education needs of staff in long-term care settings; and increasing awareness of an easily accessible resource for individual and/or group education opportunities.
To achieve our goal of providing practice-focused and accessible education on delivering care for older adults residing in long-term care settings, we:
- Developed partnerships with nursing homes and community-based organizations to provide value-based care that improves health outcomes for nursing home residents impacted by COVID-19.
- Partnered with the University of Missouri Show-Me Post-acute/Long-term Care (PA/LTC) ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) to educate and train members of the nursing home workforce so they may utilize the information to work with residents with dementia and their families and care partners impacted by COVID-19.
- Developed educational modules to address health disparities at regional and national levels that contribute to a COVID-19 management and treatment curriculum.
The module format and benefits include:
- 10 to 15 (narrations) and four to five (videos) minutes for maximum attention
- QR code accessibility for easy dissemination
- Convenient viewing from a phone or computer
- Easy integration into training curricula or other modules
- Automatic redirection for evaluation to track the completion of the modules
- Permanent signage with QR codes for digital access in community partner locations
- Printed card stock with QR codes for promotion at events
The recordings are formatted as 10- to 15-minute video presentations and three- to five-minute practice skills videos. The recordings may be accessed individually. They can also be viewed as a module or incorporated into long-term care employee orientation and in-service trainings.
