The Center for International and Comparative Law offers a variety of opportunities for students interested in international and comparative law during their time at SLU LAW.

Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the world's largest moot court competition. The Jessup competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice. Each year, more than 500 law schools from over 80 countries participate in the competition.

Prerequisites
  • A corequisite or prerequisite to Jessup is Moot Court I. International Law is recommended.
Past Accomplishments
  • The 2017-2018 SLU LAW Jessup team won 2nd place for their written memorial in the Midwest Region.
  • The 2010-2011 SLU LAW Jessup team won 9th place for their written memorial, and two students received the No. 3 and No. 8 best oralists awards.
  • The 2009-2010 Jessup team received a top-10 score for their memorial, and one team member received the No. 8 best oralist award.
  • The 2008-2009 Jessup team took home 3rd place for their written memorial and advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition.
