Remembering Dr. Jonathan Smith (1959-2021)

Dr. Jonathan Smith, Saint 直播自慰视频 University's vice president for diversity and community engagement, had a profound impact on the lives of many at SLU, throughout the local community and beyond.

Dr. Jonathan C. Smith Amphitheater Dedication

The amphitheater near SLU鈥檚 iconic clock tower was dedicated in memory of Jonathan Smith, Ph.D., Oct. 25. The dedication ceremony included the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at the amphitheater honoring Smith and his legacy. New seating areas have been added to the area, along with outdoor power outlets, creating additional spaces for students to study, talk and collaborate.

Memorial Service

Dr. Smith鈥檚 loved ones, Blessed Hope Missionary Baptist Church and Saint 直播自慰视频 University celebrated his life on Wednesday, June 30 at Chaifetz Arena.

Established in memory of Dr. Jonathan Smith, a fierce advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion at Saint 直播自慰视频 University, the endowed scholarship will support SLU students who graduated from St. 直播自慰视频-area high schools who demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

The Black Rep Theatre

Poetry and the arts were a huge part of Dr. Smith鈥檚 scholarship and life. Dr. Smith has long been involved with St. 直播自慰视频鈥� Black Rep Theatre, most recently serving as the president of its Board of Directors.
